are overcoming obstacles to growth that reach back to Prohibition. The
state's climate and terrain makes for a wide variety of growing conditions for
Georgia wines. Georgia
wineries produce both traditional southern wines based on the muscadine grape as
well as vinifera and hybrid varietals from grapes grown in the northern and
western Georgia Piedmont
