North Carolina wine country is over 400 miles from east to west.  To assist you in finding North Carolina wineries, wine, wines or a winery, this North Carolina Wine Trail ® page places wineries in North Carolina into one of four geographical regions:  WESTERN North Carolina <west of Interstate 77>; YADKIN VALLEY Wine Trail ® <wineries in the Yadkin Valley and the Swan Creek AVAs>; CENTRAL North Carolina wineries <between Interstate 77 and Interstate 95 (excluding the Yadkin Valley Wine Trail);  and EASTERN North Carolina wineries <east of Interstate 95>.  The North Carolina Wine Trail ® is a work in progress, so bear with us as we consolidate wineries and add wine-friendly businesses in a logical and comprehensive manner.  Also, please tell these wineries and businesses that you found them via the North Carolina Wine Trail ®

News:  July 15, 2008 - Wine made with grapes from cuttings from North Carolina's 'Mother Vine' is being released for sale this summer by Duplin Wine Cellars in Rose Hill.  See below for information about this North Carolina winery.  The 400 year-old 'Mother Vine' was discovered by the first colonists to Roanoke Island, along the Atlantic Ocean.
